This evening we visited the newly purchased Simi Valley Unified School District Headquarters. We started off with a regular Rotary meeting, then we were given the Grand Tour by SVUSD Superintendent Jason Peplinski. He showed us nearly all of the 120,075-square-foot structure and gave us the inside scoop as to what the building has to offer. The building itself is beautiful! There was ample room for district staff to get work done. The setting was tasteful with huge conference rooms and adequate office furniture. We couldn't help but feel excited for SVUSD and hope that other agencies and businesses take notice. But there was more...
The previous owners of the building was The Seventh-Day Adventist Church. They had two sound stages -- one with "green screen" tech, recording booths, dressing rooms, a makeup room with wall mounted lights surrounding the mirrors, a green room, and plenty more office space. In addition to the abundance of SVUSD office space, the production suite is still there! Jason had mentioned that they intend to rent out this space as a potential stream of income.
Thanks Jason and congrats on the new place!
