Simi Rotary clubs step closer to peace through the painting of rocks.
This morning members from the Simi Valley Rotary clubs gathered at Corriganville park off Kuehner Drive in Simi to distribute painted rock around the park. This seeming simple event is a part of a larger effort to define Simi Valley as an International City of Peace. Currently there are only 375 cities in 70 countries that have this distinction. The over 500 rocks were painted by club members, family, friends and Simi students. The mission is to bring peace to the community through art, education, environment, business, safety and security, recreation service, wellness, and government. if you are looking to give back to your city or just looking to be a part of something bigger than yourself drop us a line or join a meeting and see how you can help make the place we live into a better place for all in Simi Valley.
