President’s Message

Ryan MillsWelcome to the Rotary Club of Simi Sunset, a Governor’s Gold Club of Distinction and Best Small Club of the District. On behalf of our members, I want to thank you for visiting our website.

Rotary is the largest non-profit service organization in the world, with the goal of making the world a better place both locally and globally. Rotarians come together to develop community and international service projects that address many of today’s critical issues.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset is a group that is passionate about contributing to our community. Rotary’s Motto: “Service Above Self,” couldn’t be more fitting. We have a one of a kind camaraderie that can only be described as business professionals and leaders coming together as family.

Some of the projects we will support this year include a back to school shopping day for children at risk of becoming homeless through our Shoes for Little Souls project. We will be promoting child literacy through our Reading by Nine project. We will also support a number of non-profit organizations including the YMCA and the Simi Valley Free Clinic. Internationally, we look to team up with other countries to start the process of creating a global project.

Our main fundraisers are The Gator Run, Johnna’s Tea Party and The Howloween Pooch Parade. The Gator Run is a 5k-10k run/walk, which will take place in April, and has raised over $50,000 for charitable causes in the past. This is a fun, family-oriented event. Johnna’s Tea Party is a fundraiser benefiting a local cancer support organization. The Pooch Parade will take place at the end of October and has become a community favorite.

We invite you to be our guest at one of our meetings and we will share with you the benefits of membership. We meet Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley. At our meetings, you can always count on good food, an interesting program and great fellowship.

We look forward to your visit!
Ryan Mills
President 2016-2017
