The Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade and Pet Expo has quickly become one of Simi Valley’s most colorful and beloved events. Marchers dress themselves and their dogs in their Howl-O-Ween finest and parade around Rancho Tapo Community Park (Lemon Park). Last year, the parade was led by Simi Valley Mayor Bob Huber (far right) and McGriff the Crime Dog.
This year, the Pooch Parade and Pet Expo will be held on Sunday, October 30th, 2016, beginning at 10 am at Lemon Park. We expect more than 175 marchers, between 1,000 to 1,300 spectators, and more than 40 vendors. This year we will be hot food available for purchase.
Registration for both marchers and vendors will begin in late August. The price for marching will be $10 per dog – spectators are free! All of the proceeds from marching will go to the Ventura County K-9 Search & Rescue Team and one of our local animal shelters.
The Pooch Parade and Pet Expo is sponsored by Theresa’s Country Feed & Pet Store, The Ventura County Star, The Iams Company, Dr. Ron’s Animal Hospital, Wellpet LLC, Midwestern Pet Foods, Canidae Pet Foods, Natura Pet Products, and Chicken Soup/Taste of the Wild Pet Products.
