Simi Sunset Rotary - Four Avenues of Service

Vocational Service has two focuses this 2008 Spring. The 4-Way Test Essay contest is taking place for our Hillside Middle School students. Each year Rotary International encourages Rotary clubs around the world to get students to write an essay about applying the Rotary "4 Way Test" to their own lives. Each club decides how and where to conduce the contest. Our club has chosen to award 1st through 3rd prizes for the participants. Last year we awarded a laptop computer to the 1st place winner! Our Simi Sunset Rotary also sponsors an annual Ethics Seminar, held at Santa Susana High School. The seminar is open to all students who wish to attend, as well as their parents. Our next Ethics Seminar is scheduled for March 18, 2008. We also offer prizes for those students submitting an essay on what they may have learned or extracted from the seminar. Our ultimate goal is to have hundreds of students attend this seminar annually. For more information, please contact our Vocational Service Director, Jill Haney.
