Simi Sunset Rotary - Five Avenues of Service

Vocational Service encompasses projects and programs pertaining to adult and youth job training, ethics, assistance in literacy, anything which can help a person improve their job position, obtain a job, expand job opportunities and so on.

One of our on-going projects has been the Dictionary Project. We joined forces with the other 2 Simi Rotary Clubs to give away dictionaries to every 2nd grade student in our Simi Valley public schools- about 1500 students annually. The book is a expansive full reference book, useful for the students into their high school years.

Our Simi Sunset Rotary also sponsors an annual Ethics Seminar for high school students, a 4-Way Test essay contest at a local middle school. Portfolio Day is a great opportunity for students to show their best work in a mock interview situation. Great practice for future job interviews.
